Although Pacific East is a Japanese restaurant, they also have a Malaysian menu that is close enough to the authentic thing. Unfortunately, the Malaysian dishes are not as consistent as their Japanese dishes.
However, when in Cleveland, you take what you can get. As far as I know, there is no other restaurant in Cleveland that serves Malaysian cuisine. This is also our preferred restaurant of choice in Cleveland for Japanese food - including sushi/sashimi.
Shrimp goreng (shrimp noodles). The broth was quite flavorful and the noodles were cooked nicely (not overcooked or mushy). However the shrimp was a bit chewy and tough - perhaps they were overcooked or not fresh?
Seeing as this is the only restaurant in Cleveland (I know of) that serves Malaysian cuisine, I would eat here again. I would also eat here again for sushi and other japanese food.
