Hot Dog Platter
Fairway Cafe - Brooklyn, NY
They say you should never grocery shop on an empty stomach, so before browsing the vast, well-stocked aisles of the Fairway in Red Hook, I stopped by the cafe for a hot dog platter, complete with a kosher dog on an egg bun, a dill pickle spear, and mayonnaise-laden cole slaw.
It was a perfect snack, and at $2.25, a wonderful deal, especially when I can sit outside and enjoy my lunch with a stunning view of New York harbor and the Statue of Liberty before me.
