shio (salt) ramen
santoka in mitsuwa japanese market - Arlington Heights, IL
this is the very best ramen house in the chicagoland area. it is as good as most ramen that you can get in japan. (i worked in tokyo & had developed an addiction to ramen). it's almost impossible to find a ramen house, let alone such a good one. you can get miso ramen, shoyu or salt ramen in 3 sizes & 3 pork qualities. set lunch with egg & natto also available. the japanese food court has an osakan restaurant (takoyaki, curry noodle), dim sum & udon, chinese, sushi, korean, and a green tea ice cream parlor & a sweet stall, as well as a full grocery store with take out sushi, pocky, & pork buns. also a japanese travel agency, book/cd store, video store, even a liquor store well stocked with shochu & sake!
only a 20 minute drive from chicago. right off the highway, very easy to find.

The market sounds very cool, roadtrip! What is the white/pink/purple item? A radish of some kind?
