Table Top Photo Taking Tips
Here are some tips to help you make you indoor food shots look better:1. Most Important: Always sit near a window when you can. The best shots on this site were generally taken near a window.
2. Make sure you have your "Shake Reduction" or "Steady Shot" feature switched on if you have one.
3. Use as high a shutter speed as you can. You can stop most blur or camera shake at 1/30th or higher if you also support yourself by propping your elbows on the table.
4. Turn your flash off. This is more than just as a courtesy to other diners. Flash is a very harsh and unflattering source of light. It tends to blowout detail as well.
5. Get close and don't forget to use your camera's Macro setting if your lens is within 1-2 feet of your food
6. Many digital cameras allow you to adjust for specific light sources depending on where you are at, but most times "Auto" settings will work well enough.
7. Take several shots to improve your odds.
8. Take a photo of the menu to help you remember what you had!
